sign Cayo Costa State Park occupies most of an island which lies in a chain of barrier islands that shelter Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound from the storms of the Gulf of Mexico. This park is accessible only by private boat or passenger ferry services.

Tropic Star of Pine Island provides ferry service to the island. For information on thi s service, visit their web site at www.tropicstarcruises.com

The natural features of the island are stunning. Miles of beaches, acres of pine forests, oak palm hammocks, mangrove swamps and a spectacular display of bird life welcome visitors to this subtropical dreamland.

Recreational activities include picnicking, fishing, boating, primitive camping, rental cabins and beach activities. Shelling is especially good during the winter months. No lifeguard is on duty, swim at your own risk.

Cayo Costa State Park is located directly south of Boca Grande.
